To calm myself prior to the decision, I listened to the judges deliberating my fate. I hid in the closet hoping that no one would see me. Unfortunately, only my tail would fit. My body was outside the closet. I’m pretty big. But, no one even noticed me. They were so busy talking. Then, I heard them read the winning entry. Here it is!
My name for this Wise Job-Seeking Cow is Astro, short for Astrope, the greek goddess of lightning. You see, this beautiful animal with the shock of lightning white hair on her face will be using her unique physical attribute to set herself apart from the rest of the herd to get her dream job of starring in Dr. Arlene’s video. Think more electric than an AC/DC concert, more flashy than Lady Gaga, more brilliant than an Ultra-Brite toothpaste smile, shockingly vivacious, watt a cow...think Astro!
I stopped breathing for a moment, while I was listening. Oops! I need to add a title. I quickly texted Dr. Arlene on my iPhone to add “Lady” before my name. She looked at the text and couldn’t stop laughing. I had been discovered. Everyone looked at me hanging out of the closet. Yes, my new name is Lady Astro. On formal occasions, I will use the name Lady Astrope.
