Trump assumes that free media coverage, no matter what they say about him, is the key to the Republican presidential nomination. His loss in Wisconsin should be a wake-up call. As his wife Melania says, "No more retweets."
If Trump wants to become the Republican presidential nominee, he must do the following immediately and not slip backwards:
- Bring Melania, his stabilizing wife, with him to rallies and interviews.
- Eliminate his attention-provoking strategy to fuel the media with distracting comments and insults about candidates, etc.
- Present well thought out policy plans on domestic and foreign issues. No more winging it!
- Stop saying that he does not need support from the other Republican presidential nominees, who have voters. In order to capture the nomination, as well as the election, voters have to like him and trust him.
- Demonstrate that he trusts and values the opinions of others by introducing his team of advisors.
Now is the time for Trump to accept that he has to change the strategies that are no longer effective. If he cannot do this, he could fail. He needs every vote!
